Diabetes Friendly Entree Recipe - Cheesy Stuffed Burger

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 ounce part-skim mozzarella
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh basil
  • 1 tablespoon minced red onion
  • 8 ounces extra-lean ground sirloin

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, gently mix all the ingredients except the mozzarella.
  2. Divide the mixture in half.
  3. Form each half around a piece of the cheese, and shape into a thick pattie.
  4. Grill or broil the hamburger to desired doneness.
